The game was played in constant drizzle but both the teams showed good sportsmanship spirit and completed the game. The toss was won by CRC and they chose to bat first. Then they changed their mind and requested to reverse their decision allowing them to bat first; in absence of the captain, the vice captain, Sudheer agreed and allowed CRC to change their decision. The CRC team did not have their eleven and only had 5 players present. They took the field with 5 players and rightly asked to leave the field by the umpire because they did not have minimum required 7 players. They were deducted 3 overs from their innings as a result of this. CRC could have easily avoided this by choosing to bat first but they didn't, god knows why.
After an early wicket Venky and Uday batted beautifully and laid a solid foundation. Uday played some well timed shots through the covers and scored a smooth 30. At the other end Venky was very aggressive and continued his great form with some huge sixes. Given the solid foundation, ACC was eyeing a big score despite of the wet and sluggish outfield. But the middle order batsmen never really got going and scored a combined 53 runs of 58 balls. ACC ended the innings on 131 runs; it was a little low given the start they had but given the conditions and reduced overs for CRC, it was going to be a tough total to chase.
The CRC's chase was rocked early by some accurate and fast bowling by Prashant Shukla. CRC lost 3 quick wickets and they never really recovered from that. Prashant removed 2 and Venky accounted for 1 in their opening spells. ACC did not let CRC settle striking at regular intervals and not giving away too many runs. Prashant came back for another over and got one more wicket. Laxmi got 2 wickets with Sudheer and Amit taking one each. It was a comfortable win for ACC.
Prashant Shukla was declared Man Of the Match for his fiery opening spell.

Akron after a long time, against all odds won the toss and
chose to field first. Akron had one of their finest bowling starts of this
season with opening bowlers getting a wicket each. Venkatesh, in his first
over, bowled Deepak Dhiman with an inswinger while Vamsi sent the stumps for a
ride claiming the wicket of Sunny Dhillon.
Farrukh Khan and Babar Najam were the new batsmen at the crease. Both
batsmen looked determined to build a strong partnership. They cautiously worked
the balls around for ones and twos with occasional boundaries. The first power
play was dominated by Akron. Prashanth replaced Vamsi for first change and he
was finding it difficult to get his lengths right. Venkatesh was given his
fifth straight over but he dropped his length short and was taken for runs.
Farrukh and Baber with their clean powerful hitting got things going for All
Stars. Rohit replaced Venkatesh but found it difficult to contain the flowing runs.
ACC started rotating bowlers with Nitin and Peri introduced in succession. Peri
finally got the much need breakthrough for Akron. In his second ball, Babar was
caught at deep midwicket by Venkatesh. Next batsman, Gurpreet Singh, was trying
to get set but Nitin got him bowled. All Stars had a set batman in one end but
was unable to build partnerships. Nitin and Peri bowled tight lines to put
pressure on the batsmen. Jagga Singh was caught at long on by Venkatesh in
Peri’s bowling and Ashu Chaturvedi was caught by Prashanth in Nitin’s bowling.
Farrukh was still going strong hitting ball around the ground. Vamsi was
reintroduced into the attack and he successfully bowled Farrukh. Suhas
Cherukuri was bowled by Nitin, becoming Nitin’s third victim.
Ohio All Stars scored 182 runs for loss 8 wickets in 35
overs. Top scorers: Farrukh Khan 85 (72) and Babar Najam 33 (42). Top Bowlers:
Nitin 3/41, Peri 2/29 and Vamsi 2/27.
In response, Akron took a ‘no mercy’ approach in batting.
Rohit initially put a show of his defensive strokes while Peri was brutally
assaulting the bowlers. The opening pair went onto to get their third fifty
partnership. Peri reached 50 at a strike rate of nearly 200. On the other end,
Rohit showed his class with some delightful stroke play. Peri fell to Gurpreet
caught by the keeper. Uday, who wasn’t 100% fit, was next batsmen. He played
confidently all around field. Uday was caught at gully trying to slash a wide
ball. Gurpreet Singh was the bowler. Abishek was sent at second down. He was
bowled in his first ball from Gurpreet. Akron lost two wickets back to back and
found itself in trouble. Kiran Mitra was promoted up the order and he ensured
Akron did not lose further wickets. Rohit and Kiran played good shots all
around the ground and got Akron to finish line.
Lakshmikant Peri was awarded the man of the match
Akron Cricket Club chased 183 for loss of 3 wickets in 23.4
overs. Top scorers: Rohit Kankaliya 85 (69) and Lakshmikant Peri 55 (29). Top
bowler: Gurpreet Singh 3/39.
Akron rebounded brilliantly after an embarrassing defeat in
their previous game. That being said, fielding efforts have to improve
significantly. Also, extras provided by
bowlers is alarming and it is something that should be worked on.

Sameer Kulkarni took 5 wickets DMI orange started the innings with Thiag and Varad. Opening bowling for ACC was really good from Venkatesh and Vamsi. They created a couple of chances in the initial overs. ACC did not capitalize on the created chances due to poor fielding efforts. The batsmen who were struggling for the first 5 overs suddenly started playing aggressive game and it took ACC 11 overs to get the first breakthrough. Thiag who was trying to sweep the ball was caught by Uday in Rohit’s bowling. DMI orange were 71-1 in 11.3 overs. First ball after the break Varad was gone LBW in Rohit’s bowling. Then came in Sandeep Kondapally who along with Nabil took the game away from ACC. The bowlers couldn’t do much as the fielding effort was poor and there were not many runs to defend. Nabil got out to Venkatesh when DMI needed 5 runs. Karthik and Sandeep took DMI orange home with 12 overs to spare. Thiag (33), Varad (26), Nabil (28), Sandeep (21) were the top scorers for DMI orange while for ACC Rohit took 2 wickets and Venkatesh took 1 wicket. It was a bizarre performance from ACC. Only 3 batsmen scored in double digits. Poor batting and poor fielding efforts are the main reasons for the defeat.

Akron Started its season on a promising note in the First T20 tournament by beating Cleveland CC after almost 4 years. The next game against Cuyahoga was also won convincingly. But a loss in the hands of Hashlingden put a dent in the campaign to be become Cleveland Region champions. Akron still managed to be the top team in the region in the group stages with one loss and faced Cuyahoga in regional Semi's. Akron's T20 campaign ended with a loss in the Semi's by 4 Wickets. Akron took some positives from the tournament and moves on to the yearly MCT tournament.
Akron did not fare well in the regional stages of the tournament and lost to Cleveland United, Cuyahoga CC and Hashlingden and was eventually ranked 5th in the region. Lack of availability of the full team members threw the team off and Akron was struggling to find a place in Div-I.
Being ranked 21st in the over MCT group Akron landed in Div-II and the challenge ahead was to defend the title from 2014. Akron found it tough to find the right combination and the momentum which it lost during the Semi finals of T-20.
Loosing the first div-II game against Cleveland Warriors, pushed Akron on to back foot. But some good performances for the next 4 games made sure that Akron was on track and focused for the challenges ahead.
At the end of the Group stages in Div-II Akron was ranked 3rd in the over all Div-II and qualified for Quarter finals.
Akron played University of Cincinnati CC in quarter finals. Rohit's performance of 84 and 4 wickets along side Venky's performance of 24 and 4 wickets made sure Akron secured their Semi final spot. Rohit was the MOM.
Akron faced DMI CC-2 in semi finals in Rhodes park. Akron won the toss and elected to bat and had a decent start but after the 12th over things turned around and Akron batsman found it tough against the spirited spin attack of DMI CC and crumbled to 82 all out with many of the players not able to reach double figures. Akron put up a fight in terms of Shiva who kept the wickets tumbling on one end with some awesome leg spin and took 4 wickets.
Akron finally lost to DMI CC by 4 wickets, was a bad day for Akron in terms of loss but lot of things to learn for the young guys.
Overall the Venky, Shiva and Rohit made an impact and helped Akron go all the way to Semi's. There were some good performances in patches by other players but the team was not able to come together and depended more on individual performances.
Go ACC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
